JumpandReach family celebrates Stefan Kraft’s first home victory
At the first sky flying competition of the season at the Kulm in Austria, the best of the world, including Stefan Kraft and Michael Hayböck, showed a great flying show in front of thousands of Austrian fans!
Day one already gave a reason to celebrate: in a very tight finale, Stefan Kraft saved a 3rd rank and thus his 10th (!) podium of this season. His friend and roommate Michi Hayböck gave proof of his “flying skills” and only slightly missed the top 10 with an 11th place, but continued his rising form curve.
On Sunday a dream should come true for Krafti… After a thrilling first round the 26-year-old from Salzburg was in the lead with a 230 m flight and a perfect landing. Then, round two had to be cancelled due to too much wind. Therefore, Stefan Kraft was certain to be the winner and could celebrate his first victory at home! It was the first home victory for an Austrian after Michael Hayböck’s triumph in Bischofshofen in 2015.
Besides numerous fans, the young Nordic Combined athletes Christian Deuschl and Dominik Terzer were also delighted for their JumpandReach colleagues Michi and Stefan – the two young guns collected their first “ski flying miles” on that weekend.
